What this is
A contribution earmarked for devlog.page, not a purchase. It marks the request as fully funded straight away, with no approval needed to pay. We then check the domain against our acceptance policy before anything is bought.
It gives you no ownership, no first pick of a name and no special credit: you appear on the ledger like any supporter, under the name you choose. Claiming a name stays separate, under the normal limits.

The domain is available at or under the price
The money is used to register it. Once it is live, claims open to everyone at once.
It is available but costs more
We turn your buyout into a campaign at the new price. What you gave counts toward it, and we email you.
The domain turns out to be unavailable
We email you a secure link with a choice: a full refund, or keep it with the project to be used where it is needed most. If you don’t answer within 30 days, after one reminder, it is kept.
We decline it under the acceptance policy
For example a trademark clash or a bad history. This one is not refunded: the money stays in that domain’s fund, and the request is rejected with a public reason.
A payment that can’t be recorded correctly, such as a duplicate charge or one that arrives after a campaign opened, is refunded in full automatically. Nothing else is refunded on request. Read the refund policy for every case.
