NAMESTEAD

00 / Passes

Here’s who pays.

Four optional ways to pay, if you want to.

Domains and servers cost money every year. Namestead pays for them with optional payments from people who want to: a pass for a domain they love, a new domain they want sooner, or a faster climb up the tiers. Each one is a one-time payment of any amount, and each one adds Trust Points to the payer’s own account.

Claiming a name costs nothing. Everything below is optional.

Keep Pass

Optional

You use a domain and want it renewed.

Pay any amount from ₹100 toward a live domain’s yearly renewal.

You get: Trust Points (1 per ₹20), a badge, and your name on the domain’s page if you want it there.

Launch Pass

Optional

You want a new domain added sooner.

Pay any amount from ₹100 toward a campaign that buys a requested domain. Refunded in full if it isn’t bought.

You get: Trust Points, a badge, and up to three names pre-booked on the new domain.

Buyout

Optional

You want one requested domain now, without waiting for votes.

One Launch Pass of the domain’s price, toward adding it. It skips the campaign; a person still checks the domain before it is bought.

You get: Everything a Launch Pass gives, and the domain opens for everyone.

Trust Points shortcut

Optional

You’d rather not wait to reach a tier.

Pay any amount from ₹100; every ₹20 adds one Trust Point, on top of what you earn by taking part.

You get: Your next tier sooner: more names, direct DNS. Registry and Root still need a person’s approval.

Compare tiers

A pass or a payment for Trust Points gives no ownership, equity or control over Namestead, a domain or any name. Through Trust Points it can raise your tier, including how much your vote on domain requests counts; it gives no control over how Namestead is run, and we decide which domains to buy.
