Sponsored slots
A Sponsored slot is an advert: someone paid to show their own Showcase listing or community post for one week, and it is always marked “Sponsored”. Sponsored slots aren’t open yet. This describes how they will work when they open.
Why am I seeing this?
Because its advertiser booked that week, not because of anything about you. Everyone who opens the page sees the same slots.
We don’t use tracking cookies or personal data to choose a slot or to count it. We count how often a slot was shown and clicked on our own servers, and tell the advertiser only those totals.
How a slot is shown
- It is marked “Sponsored” in words, with the advertiser’s name under it, on a background of its own.
- On Showcase, up to 2 cards a week sit in their own row above the board. In a community, one post a week sits in a box above the feed.
- It is never ranked, and shows no votes, comments count or Trust Points. Votes on a listing during the week it is Sponsored don’t count toward the board, and it is left out of that week’s ranking.
- The listing’s own page says “Sponsored this week by” and the advertiser’s name.
- It is shown only on namestead.dev, never on a domain in the catalog, and never called “featured” in an email.
What can be promoted
Your own Showcase listing, live or about to launch, or your own published post in a community. A person reviews every slot before its week starts, up to 3 days ahead: the claims it makes, the categories the Community Guidelines ban, and its links. We can reject a slot, or remove one during its week with the reason; the refund rules below apply.
Booking a slot
The price is ₹1,999 a week for either kind, including everything you are charged. Any account 7 days old or more with a verified email can book. Choosing a week holds the slot for 15 minutes while you pay through Razorpay, and the receipt says it is advertising.
The price is collected in full through Razorpay; Namestead can’t accept a payment with tax deducted from it there. Bookings by one advertiser are limited to ₹1,00,000 in a financial year (April to March). If your business needs to deduct tax at source, or wants more, write to sushil.dev.in@gmail.com before booking.
Like any payment, a slot adds one Trust Point for every ₹20 and counts toward your badge. The points stay provisional until the week has run, and a refund takes back the points of the part refunded.
Sponsored slots
A Sponsored slot is advertising, so it has its own refund rules. Each refund goes back to the card or account you paid with, and the Trust Points of the part refunded are taken back.
| What happens | Refund |
|---|---|
| We reject the slot in review | The whole price |
| You cancel 72 hours or more before the week starts | The whole price |
| You cancel less than 72 hours before, or during the week | None |
| You delete or unpublish what the slot promotes | As if you cancelled at that moment, and the slot ends |
| We cancel it, or can’t run it (what it promotes isn’t live, is taken down through no fault of yours, or a section is switched off) | The whole price before the week starts, the days not run after |
| We remove it during the week, not for anything you did | The days not run |
| We remove it for breaking the rules | The days not run, except for fraud, phishing, malware or illegal content: none |
A week runs Monday 00:00 to Sunday 24:00, India time. A day that has begun counts as run.
